Mulder and Scully investigate a series of baffling murders in Baltimore where the victims are killed in sealed rooms with their livers removed. Mulder connects the killings to similar unsolved cases from decades past and theorizes the killer is a mutant who can squeeze through impossibly small spaces. Their investigation eventually leads them to Eugene Victor Tooms, who possesses this terrifying ability.
