When Skinner’s old college buddy, a screenwriter named Wayne Federman, comes to D.C. to observe Mulder and Scully’s investigative procedures for an upcoming film, he witnesses a paranormal event while tagging along on a case involving a senior member of the Catholic Church, a former “yippie” who claims to be Jesus Christ, and a mysterious clay bowl with the power to raise the dead. The events inspire a film based on the case, which sends Mulder, Scully, and Skinner to Hollywood. This episode was written and directed by David Duchovny.
